Meet Kasey Adler
Kasey attended Hallinan Elementary school “when the play structure was wood” and is now the parent of an eight year old son, who is a Lake Oswego public school student.
A kid from Hallinan
Kasey graduated from Lincoln High School as an International Baccalaureate student and was also a very successful baseball and basketball player. He went first to the University of Southern California to play baseball, where he won a PAC-10 Championship his freshman year. He then transferred to the University of Pennsylvania where he graduated with a double major in Communications and Political Science and played first base for the University.
After graduation, Kasey entered the business world of the entertainment industry. He worked as a business development analyst at several production companies and investment funds, including Intrepid Pictures, Relativity Media, and Elliott Management. For the last several years, he’s been Vice President at Dark Horse Entertainment, the local production company behind recent shows such as Umbrella Academy, Resident Alien, and films such as Hellboy and The Mask.
Raised by Educators
Father, Sy Adler, was a professor of urban studies and city planning and retired recently from Portland State University, where he was Dean of the College of Urban and Public Affairs. Kasey’s mother was a public sector dentist, who taught at Portland Community College while doing her clinical work. For many years she ran the dental clinic at the Oregon State Hospital and treated many at the Chemawa Indian Health Center.
Dedicated to Community
Like so many who went to colleges and universities out of state, Kasey was drawn back to Lake Oswego because of the community’s tradition of public school excellence. He quickly re-entered the active community, coaching numerous local baseball and basketball teams and serving on many city and county boards and commissions. He sits on the Lake Oswego Schools Foundation Board and the Westridge Elementary School Advisory Committee.
He was recently elected Chair of the City of Lake Oswego Transportation Advisory Committee and served for several years on the Clackamas County Economic Development Commission.
Our son Austin started Kindergarten some 34 years after I was on that school bus for my first day at Hallinan.
I look forward to being part of a focused LO School Board team. I want my son and all future LO students to benefit from the remarkable education experiences I had growing up.
Martha Schrader
Clackamas Co. Commissioner since 2013, LO Resident
“I run on a platform of ‘not left, not right, but forward,’ and Kasey Adler is the same. As a volunteer youth sports coach of many LO teams his mantra is, ‘keep your eye on the ball.’
Kasey believes that our school district’s on going success will be a board that has different skills and opinions, but one which comes together as a team to keep our school district moving forward.”
